Corruption in government is not a new issue. Throughout history, leaders and rulers have often strayed from justice, oppressing their people and serving their own interests instead of upholding righteousness. The Bible speaks clearly about the responsibility of those in power and the consequences of dishonesty. Here are Bible verses that address corruption and the importance of godly leadership.

God’s Hatred for Corrupt Leaders
God is a just God, and He despises corruption in leadership. When leaders use their power for selfish gain, they betray the trust of their people and defy God’s commands. The Bible repeatedly warns against dishonest rulers and emphasizes the need for integrity among those in authority.
Proverbs 29:4
“A just king gives stability to his nation, but one who demands bribes destroys it.”
Micah 3:11
“You rulers make decisions based on bribes; you priests teach God’s laws only for a price; you prophets won’t prophesy unless you are paid. Yet all of you claim to depend on the Lord.”

“What sorrow awaits the unjust judges and those who issue unfair laws. They deprive the poor of justice and deny the rights of the needy among my people.”
