What Does the Bible Say About Change of Heart
The Bible teaches us that a change of heart is very important. It means turning away from sin and moving closer to God. In the Old Testament, God told His people to have new hearts and new spirits (Ezekiel 36:26). This shows that God wants us to become new inside, not just on the outside.
A change of heart begins with repentance, which means being truly sorry for our sins and deciding to live differently. In Acts 3:19, it says, “Repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.” When we turn to God, He forgives us and makes us clean. This is the first step to a new heart.
Jesus also talked about the heart. In Matthew 5:8, He said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” This shows that our hearts must be pure to enjoy a close relationship with God.
